Encounters of the Karin kind

Yay! We succesfully met up with Karin Schemeit in Heathrow just beofre our flight to Entebbe. We had just been to the airport's multi-faith prayer room/chapel where we had some quiet prayer and prayed together for our trip, everyone at home, and for Karin...when we found her in a cafe where we found her in a cafe happily sipping water and writing in her journal. Hugs and happiness all around!

We boarded our flight quickly but ended up waiting once we were on. Heathrow was very busy so we had to wait for our turn on the runway. They gaveus supper as soon as we were in the air (not as nice as the last flight, although Steve said his was fabulous), which was a relief because we were hungry and tired. Again we donned the earplugs and sleep masks, although i don't know that we needed them, given how quickly we fell asleep. Anne slept so soundly that Steve moved her chair twice and she didn't even know it!

Anne enjoyed sitting beside a little Ugandan boy named Richard on the flight. He was seven years old and coming back after 6 months in the US with his parents. he was very quiet, and all Anne really learned about him was that he loved to watch the Simpsons!

We woke just as the sun appeared and took a few moments to freshen up. i changed into a skirt and sandals, which felt good. The clouds out the window were beautiful, although because we were seated on the wing it was hard to sea. Over the Sudan we could see the ground appear, and then the Nile. We're almost there (but we have raods to travel...!)
